The Worst Strains for Anxiety

Anxiety is not fun to deal with, and some people may use different cannabis strains to help with this. Some however, do the opposite effect. Here are the best strains to avoid if you suffer from anxiety.

How Cannabis Can Affect Anxiety in a Bad Way

Cannabis strains have different types of effects. Some are used to reduce the feelings of anxiety, while others may make it worse. There are a few different factors that cause this to create this. CBD is usually good for quelling anxiety, and lower dosages can be stimulating, but bigger dosages can also cause a more sedating result.

THC also plays a role in this. In small doses, it can make you feel good, but for those who are easily susceptible to anxiety, it can make you more anxious. Low doses usually reduce it, while higher dosages create this.

THC is also good for those who have anxiety if the terpenes fit this. Those that have a sedative effect usually are better. It doesn’t matter all that much whether it’s an indica or a sativa, but more along the lines of what the terpenes are, and the THC content that’s in there. It can make the anxiety worse depending on the types of strains that are there.

The Worst Strains if You Have anxiety

Here are some of the worst strains to have if you are prone to anxiety, especially with smoking. The first is Jack the ripper. It’s energizing, but it’s something best avoided if you suffer from anxiety. This is because it’s high in THC, and it can make you paranoid, disoriented, and also super anxious due to the THC that’s within this. Some people have mentioned though that if you take this in a low dose, it can mitigate the effects.

The second one, is girl scout cookies, and this is one that’s dominant in indica, and gives you a head rush. It does, however, make it harder for people who are anxious to feel comfortable, as this can have properties that may be anxiety-inducing for you. Some people, however, have reported that it does increase the chance for self-reflection. However, this can sometimes have the opposite effect for those who have anxiety.

Trainwreck is another one. Aptly named a trainwreck, this is one that those who are anxiety-prone should avoid like the plague, especially in higher amounts. It does cause a head rush in most cases, and some people who have anxiety have reported that it can make it hard for them to exist in some cases.

Alaskan Thunderfuck is another one that’s good for people who like the head rush, but for people with anxiety, it can make things much worse. It can cause feelings of paranoia, and it can cause you to have a high that’s inquisitive and thought provoking.

Then there is green crack, which is one that’s energizing, and is great for forming a daily routine and minding your own business, and also works to provide euphoria and productivity. However, it as well also has a high THC content to it, and the CBD in this is very low, so if you have a high amount of it, there is a chance that it can cause anxiety, so keep that in mind.

Finally, you’ve got a tangerine dream, which is great for those who want to be creative, but for the anxiety-prone, it can cause thoughts to be racing, jitters, and is bad for managing anxiety.

Try to avoid these strains or take them in small doses if you do suffer from anxiety for your own wellness and benefits.
