Epidolex is a medicine that’s orally used to help with seizures. It’s got large numbers of CBD in it, with FDA-approved trials that demonstrate the efficacy of this drug. This does come from the same company that offers Sativex, which is a concoction that uses both THC and CBD, but with Epidolex, it comes with 100 mL of a solution, and up to 10,000 mg of CBD within it.  

This is something that’s used for those with neurological conditions, including seizures, and it’s something that a lot of people do use with young children, especially those who have Dravet syndrome and Lennox Gastraut syndrome.  This is something that is used to combat various conditions. 

When was it approved 

The FDA decided to approve this on June 25, 2018, and it’s something that was done because cannabis does offer great federal authority that’s there, and with more and more studies being conducted on this, various other formulations of cannabis are right there, and it’s something that’s FDA-approved, which opens the door for more approvals down the line. 

This is something that’s used to help with seizure treatment, and it offered new and bThis also does offer a chance for better, more active developments on different ingredients and other medical therapies to help with drug development. 

How it Works 

This basically uses CBD in order to target specifically the receptors that have something to do with epilepsy. With many products especially THC working together to help with the endocannabinoid system, which is a regulator that helps with CBD universally, this binds directly to a ton of the receptors which specifically make up this system and is used to balance out neurotransmitters on various other sites. 

This is something that combats seizures by helping with the controlling of the glutamate and the GABA neurotransmitters. This does create icons which are positively charged, and it does cause the neurons to be negatively charged as well, and it helps to create this sort of state as well through the utilization of this this. 

When these rest, they usually are a specific charge, but when they’re suddenly enacted, you do need to also look at the electron pulses that push all of this out. It causes a gap in the chemicals that are between the neurons, and the receptors work on these neighboring cells, depending upon the neurotransmitters which are released here. 

How it fights seizures 

How does it work? Well, it’s because of the properties of CBD and their benefits. It does bind directly to the TRPV-1 receptors, which do modulate seizures, and ramps up the calcium and glutamate releases. This does get activated by CBD as well. It also plays a major role in the disease and the release of it, causing influxes of neurons when it does get activated. It also works directly onto your serotonin receptors too in order to combat this, but researchers are still looking to underpin the actual state of these molecules here.
